Calm, well maintained, great lake views. The homes around lake are modernist, but got scale of a small lake. As exhilarating as the experience is, it shows how the primal Rouse Columbia design was abandoned throughout the vast majority of both Columbia and Howard County for commercial box like commercial and residential development. Rouse and his partners were PT Barnums of Sixties communal dreams. Then again, they simply did what capitalists do: exploit.
Lovely as usual. Always a pleasant peaceful experience walking around the lake.
This loop around the lake is ~1.3 miles around. Unfortunately it cuts through a neighborhood for about 20% of the trip. The view from the south side at the dam is perfect at sunset. Flowers surround a fair amount of the lake. This loop is quieter than the other 3 lakes because its harder to see.nnFishing is allowed on the north side only and the lake is stocked by Columbia Association.
Nice park/paved path to take a run. It’s only about 1.5 miles around, but it’s still a nice little jog you can take in a nice area. Parking does fill up very fast, though. The parking is in a decent area. Safe. Nice park, lake, people. I’d come here again.
