Its a market for cheap basics nothing specialnThey used to have Hummus but it didn't sell because they never would put it on sale and promote it. If they had just gave away some free samples it would have sold.nThe employees are very nice. But the management it the worsenEmployees are overworked.nBaked goods on shelf past the expiration date still not on sale meanwhile a u-cart of fresh baked goods will sit on the floor for two days before getting to the shelfnThe White management never comes out of hiding to greet or even smile at customers

The manager accused me of stealing when I didn’t. I was standing in the checkout line because it was long and I saw that there was ground turkey for $1.00. So, I placed the item in my cart and I put back the more expensive ground turkey that I picked up before knowing about the one with the reduced price. As I was putting it back, I saw that my purse was open. So, I place the turkey back into the section it was supposed to go and then closed my purse. Then, the manager stopped me and told me to leave the store. They did not question me, check my bag or check the security footage that was being displayed right in front of the frozen meats! They just assumed that I was stealing! I go to that store all the time, the staff recognizes me. I’d never steal, especially not ground turkey! I’m never coming to the store again, not because I’m banned for a year but because I am fed up with the awful new management. If you want to get accused of theft, this is the place you’ll want to be. Otherwise, stay home or choose another location. If I could rate this place -15 stars, I would. Save-A-Lot on 1101 Pennsylvania Avenue, you are horrendous and scummy to accuse a sixteen year old kid of a crime they did not even commit. You should be ashamed of the establishment that you’re running.

Great for light grocery shopping if you live in the area or you're passing through. Fruit and vegetables here are more reasonable priced than many other places. Only issue is limited variety for some items.
