I would like to start my review by saying all of the food we ordered was really good and overall we enjoyed our experience at Tio Pepe. However, we were less than impressed with our server, who seemed more or less ambivalent towards us.nnWhile trying to order, our server never stayed at our table to listen to what we wanted, instead would rush around to other tables and talk to us in between. We were excited because the reviews mentioned quality service and a warm atmosphere, but that was definitely lacking and missed in our experience. Overall, the paella was satisfying and very tasty, although the chicken was over cooked and the menu mentioned chorizo, but we didn’t taste or see any in our dish.nnWe were very much looking forward to the Baked Alaska for dessert; however by the time we ordered it our server said we couldn’t have it? Even though it was only 8:15 on a Friday night.. with no explanation why. By the time we ordered our alternate dessert, it had been at least 30 minutes anyway just to get 2 cappuccinos.nnThe take away from this - the food was great and worth the trip, but the service really soured our first trip back out to restaurants, especially when the atmosphere was something we were looking forward to.

As always, Tio Pepe's didn't disappoint. They were very attentive and polite, making sure to adhere to COVID restrictions in every way possible. We shared a pitcher of red sangria, mussels for an appetizer and the paella for two as our entree. The prices are a little high, BUT appropriate because the portions are huge. We both had plenty leftover for at least another meal. We were also celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and they were sure to offer well wishes and a slice of their delicious chocolate roll, which was a special touch!

The red sangria is out of this world!!! Half a pitcher is plenty for two people to split. We were disappointed that they didn't offer the appetizer sampler, but really enjoyed the mushroom toast, escargot, and shrimp in garlic sauce. The bread was a bit stale, but that didn't matter once it was covered in the garlic sauce.
