Reasonably priced. Very serene. Great place to get away and enjoy nature! There were baby deer in the campground. That was a sight to see! Parking pads are made of asphalt. Water and electricity hook-ups. Dump site and garbage bins not far from campsites.nnThey allow 2 cars with your RV. Visitors must have a pass to get in. Recommend picking up passes upon checking in.nnCheck in starts at 2pm; check out, 1pm.nnCan fish in the lake.

Shoal Creek has beautiful access to the lake, but the sites and campground are not well maintained. If the sites were not on the lake, this would be a 0/5 review. We camp regularly and found the potential for shoal creek to be very high. The sites are well spaced, with roomy tent pad, tables, and some distance between sites. Parking for each site sits right off the road, and both the road and parking are are narrow. Parking your camper is more like parking on the shoulder of a wide sidewalk. The steps of our camper unfolded basically to the hill side. Then its a steep hill down to the tent pad / grill / fire area. Unfortunately this is not well maintained and is more of a washout slope with rotting timber steps. There are spiders, bees, and general trash in the site - understand its nature, but basic ground keeping would improve the area greatly - as an example to maintenance when we arrived there were a few weeks worth of reservation tags still clipped to the site post - clearly no one is coming in regularly after guests - fire pit was full of glass and metal. However, water fronts sites easy access makes swimming and kayaking fun in the Lake. We did opt to leave a day early though, as there is little benefit once you are done with the lake for the day. NOTE - the campground closes at 5 and the main gate will be locked. We arrived late (6:30) and there is no host to unlock the gate or meet you - we had to drive in an open exit gate to get to our site.

The campground was well maintained. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Campsites are spaced apart nicely so that you have some privacy even if adjoining sites are occupied. Nice views all around. The bathrooms were kept well supplied, which was a huge plus! All in all, camping as a family at Shoal Creek Campground was a great experience and we will return frequently.
