Doerun is a great place for Pitcherplants because of the bog habitat but the trails advertised on the kiosk map are not marked on the trail or overgrown so you have to blaze your own path. There are other much larger paths recently mowed that you can find in other parts of the park.

The place was deserted, the pitchers not blooming yet so early in spring 2021. A fine and lovely place to spend a solitary afternoon.

They need to put out better direction signs once you get in so you know to find pond

One of my favorite areas to visit! Love seeing the pitcher plant blooms and unique carnivorous plants!

This is a lovely natural area in the late summer. Lots of blooming wildflowers and of course abundant pitcherplants. Today was a bit muggy but fortunately it wasn't very buggy. My only concern is that a license or pass is required to access the site which makes it a problem for the passing visitors.
