A unique dining experience in the not so unique town of Vermillion. Mr. Smiths is the place with the somewhat helpful culinary folks. I enjoyed my visit to Mr. Smith’s, mostly because it was different. I mean it’s in a Ace Hardware store !! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The employees, though not rude, seemed like they would rather be any where but here. If it were in a normal setting, I would give it 3 stars. One star for being in a hardware store. We got Mr. Smith's delivered and it was by far the worst sandwiches we have ever had. The Philly Cheese Steaks we got had about 1 strand of cheese on them, and the meat tasted disgusting. Got a turkey and cheese sub for our son since he loves them, and he threw it in the trash after a few bites. For such pricey sandwiches we would have expected more, and we know they used to be good food, but we will not be ordering from here ever again.

The best sandwiches in town come from a small local bakery hidden inside an hardware store!! We love this place and have tried lots of things on the menu - never disappointed. I recommend the Big Smith or the breakfast Country Skillet. Fast and friendly, price is right, good quality.
