Watertown Christian School

I love the atmosphere and learning for my child here. However, as a single mom who works full time, they just didn't understand many things that made it hard for me and my child. My daughter would feel left out during certain things due to everyone was supposed to contribute to various fundraisers for different organizations. This caused her much anxiety. Also, I felt harrassed to put in my mandated volunteer hours, even though at the beginning of the school year I had spoke with office staff about a project I could do from home. The staff never follwed through on their side and that left me without that option to fulfill the volunteer hours. I was also chewed out for not picking up fundraiser items quick enough that we had sold. Being a single parent who works fulltime, I came as soon as I could, but was made to feel like crap about it. This in turn made me not want to contribute to future things for the school and made it hard for me to not shy out of being around the other parents. The first years that my child went to this school no one made me feel less than. The staff were understanding of my situation and helped me find solutions. Then they got a new principal and the atmosphere for me changed. However, the teacher my child had was great and my child's anxiety regarding those other fundraisers was alleviated. The learning is great, there is no bullying between kids, but the grownups are clueless.
