We recently visited Key West on vacation and decided to take the Yankee Freedom Ferry Dry Tortugas Trip! We were greeted with enthusiastic crew members right away in the morning. Two people in our group camped and I did the day trip.nnThey were very honest about how the trip was going to go which was great including taking Dramamine for the initial trip out there. Boy were they right! The waves were 5-6 feet and some got sick. They warned us about this and we’re VERY attentive for those that didn’t feel well.nnI was so impressed how they were “Johnny on the Spot” with caring for guests that were sick, providing bags for those that got sea sick, taking some to the back to relax, and immediately giving ginger ale and cleaning items so that people felt better.nnOnce we got there they got the cabin ready for lunch, wished us a great day and we had fun exploring the island. Hollywood then gave a twenty minute chat regarding the island and was very enthusiastic creating a great picture about the history of the island.nnBoarding to go back, Hollywood remembered my name right away which was very impressive and made sure we didn’t miss anyone. The ride back was super chill, most everyone relaxed and were happy and we returned back to the dock rather quickly. The trip of two and a half hours is a lot, but is worth it and the crew does a great job.nnDefinitely recommend it to all! Thanks Yankee Freedom Crew! Great job!
THE TRIP WAS A BLAST. The price was discouraging at the beginning but it is absolutely worth every penny. We had to book a month and a half early to get a Valentines Day trip. Check-in was a breeze (received a refund for being a National Park Annual Pass Holder), plenty of room in ferry terminal. The breeze made it comfortable to sit on the top deck even in the full sun. The crew made sure that absolutely every need was taken care of to make the trip as fun and comfortable as possible. We won the free trip raffle so can't wait to come back soon.
This was an excellent experience from start to finish. When we arrived it seemed an odd layout but it worked quiet well. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and laid out the information relevant to our voyage. The Captain did an excellent job during the voyage. This is a long day starting with a bag breakfast consisting of a bagel, cream cheese and a dup of yogurt. The snorkeling at the island was really nice. There are some piers out there with all kinds of coral and lots of fish. Very comfortable temps and just a pleasant day.
What a glorious camping trip to Dry Tortugas National Park thanks to Yankee Freedom. Really made this bucket list checkoff extra special. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The service was just great. Highly recommend doing this. We only camped one night; I recommend camping at least two.
Great trip aboard the Yankee Freedom to tge Dry Tortugas National Park and Forth Jefferson. Bryan, our guide for the tour, thoroughly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and enjoyment of the park. It is just a shame that the weather didn't cooperate a bit better as snorkelling around the fort would have have been the cherry on the cake!!nDefinitely recommend making the trip out to this national park it is well worth the ferry ride ud83dude0a
