A happy accident occurred on the first day of November. A gorgeous Virginia Beach day in the 70's and out of no where a secluded city park. Mind you I have written over 50 reviews of area parks, so finding a new one is priceless. Not only new to me, but a super location as well.nnYou will find the park tucked back a few blocks off Great Neck Road in the Wolfsnare Plantation neighborhood. The area was developed in 1956 and a gem of a community space is on the corner of Wolfsnare and Plantation. Parking is off street only and limited on a narrow road. I assume the public grounds was established from the beginning and recently play equipment was installednnThe location is phenomenal on a large corner lot with tall pines and off a water way in the far rear. Large pine cones on a bed of needles create a pretty scene. There is a lot of yard for running around, but it's not level. A game of football or kickball may not be a good idea with a water way.nnNewer playground equipment designed for 10&U is marvelous. A large bank of swings accommodates all ages. A full court basketball is a highlight. A few aluminum picnic tables are to the side. A few benches to sit on are by the equipment. The park has no shelter, or restrooms. I saw at least one trash can at the entrance. The entire recreation area was clean and I can tell you this is from citizens showing pride for their neighborhood.nnJust a cautionary with young children to watch them if playing in the far rear. There is water to the that differs on level depending on seasonal rain. It ends behind the park. No fencing to restrict is present. Water level will vary to either a few feet, to a muddy bottom. Farther down it gets somewhat deeper.nnHow wonderful for the Wolfsnare Plantation to have such a neat recreation area in their community. You have done it again VB Parks & Recreation.

Recently revamped by the city, this park is welcoming and up to date. It would benefit from a covered pavillion but that was not in the budget. Overall one of the best of our city's neighborhood parks.

I was disturbed by the amount of leaves left on the ground. Hasn't Virginia Beach heard about taking the forests?!

New equipment, full court basketball gosls. Small park but plenty of shade and very relaxing.
