This small, forested park is a short walk from downtown Rocky Mount. The single out & back trail is about 1/4 mile and meanders close to the creek and through the woods. The area is nestled in between private properties, so don't stray too far off trail. There is a nice graphic on the sign at the parking lot which shows planned future improvements for the park - loop trails, open meadows and even a kiosk. Funds are understandably hard to come by given the state of affairs in 2020.nnThe park is lightly traveled and no one else was on the trail while I was there. Yet I did see 11 species of birds during my walk and two squirrels doing what squirrels do. I felt safe during my midday stroll. No bathrooms, no play area for children and only minimal trash. Maintenance , if any, has been scaled back. This is a work-in-progress. It's a nice place to visit and a good place for a little park. I hope the planned improvements become a reality.

Nothing really there except for a small parking lot. There is no place for kids to play. I believe there was one picnic table. It is beside a small creek. That's about it.

Dark needs street lights.

Great little hiking trail on the edge of town.
