I am proud to be one of the first students when the school was built in '57. Prior to that we had to go to an old Navy barracks at a different site. The first class started out as Juniors since there were no Seniors yet. Thus, I enjoyed being the senior class TWICE. How cool it that? The campus was without landscaping plants or athletic programs. It was simply buildings, teachers, and students. The principal was Dr. Mann. He was not well liked. My primary activity was as the school projectionist and got to run the movie projector for learning videos. Remember, this was WAY before video cameras or even Polaroid for that matter.

Radford high is one of the worst schools I have ever attended! The teachers and staff are all completely incompetent, and I am ashamed to be a student here. It seems as though the big issues like the continuous gun threats and massive drug problems are swept under the rug by the administration, while minor issues like wearing school IDs are enforced strictly. The principals are a joke and tree fact that we have like 5 vice principals I think shows the level of incompetence that this school has. Each one of them does absolutely nothing but make sure we have our school IDs and aren't using our phones. Then the couselors are just as bad. It seems as though they want to work as little as possible, so when you want a class change, they make it impossible. This year they made us chose out classes 2nd quarter for next year, and they tell us we can't change them. Radford is just a horrible school fill of lazy and incompetent staff and administration. Would not recommend.

Went and graduated there, c/o '88, awesome school, great teachers and lots of memories. I wish we could just turn back time. It was that fun. (Goosebumps)

Petty behavior by a high percentage of staff but there are a handful of good teachers here that actually care about the students. Do not attend this school for P.E. summer. My kid had a concussion in June of last year because staff was chatting and not paying attention. Two head injuries in 4 days and nobody called me until the next day only because I sent a note describing her symptoms. It's been a mess and they try to blame other people, not take responsibility for their actions. I've given several different doctors letters/notes and it's like nothing is wrong. They will not take us serious because they know their staff screwed up big time. Not even the superintendents want to meet in person. They are good on paper but that's about it. Enforcing certain policies for certain people. We have experienced discrimination here. I hope with this review they will not retaliate but who knows given all the negative that we have expirienced. All the cover-up by administration. Truly sad and depressing experience. They know better yet they hide it. The law of Karma will eventually catch up to them.
