Honolulu Zoo

Pretty much the only zoo on the island. Is located right in Waikiki so be prepared for a lot of tourists and hard to find parking, since many people use the zoo's limited parking to just go to the beach/shopping instead of actually going to the zoo.nnThe zoo it's self is clean and seems pretty maintained. I was surprised at the range of animal life they have. Definitely a great place to bring your kids (or yourself) at least once!

I want to start off my saying that the staff is 100% awesome. Then let’s talk about how clean and the laid out the Zoo was. I didn’t see one piece of trash or clutter. My wife and I have done dozens of Zoos all over the world and even though this one was small, we loved it. The laid out was perfect and had a nice flow. Now to the most important part the animals, they were out everywhere! I went in March and we saw everything. If you have time in Hawaii, go by this Zoo, it’s well worth the time and money!

I had an awesome experience with my family. The facility definitely tricked me. I believe the zoo was smaller than it was. I can appreciate this zoo better than most due to the climate. Outside of some animals appearing to be alone. We had a great time!

Watch operating hours, as they close at 1530, with the Savanna portion closing at 1515. Cost tally adds up fast. There's an extra fee if using a card vs cash. Be sure to bring water & wear sunscreen as it gets hot inside. Boasts a wide variety of amazing animals to see. Recommend even if you don't have kids.

The hubby and I enjoyed taking our time walking through the entire zoo. It was perfect for a winter day in Honolulu! With the breeze we stayed cool. There are a lot of shady spots, however, so walking in the middle of the day isn't horrible. I highly recommend bring your own food and having a picnic on one of the giant lawns. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to walk the entire place.
