Hertz Car Sales Honolulu

I purchased a car in July 2020 that had expired registration and expired safety. Received a temporary registration. Hertz is responsible for renewing the Title, registration and safety as part of the purchase price. Month after month I would go to Hertz to get a new temporary registration until November when without notice they closed the doors. I don’t have the title from Hertz the temporary vehicle registration is expired so I cannot drive it to work. I work on a military base, they won’t let the Hertz vehicle on base. Had to buy another vehicle to go to work. The Hertz car is parked, gathering dust. Several phone calls to Hertz Corporate office in Oklahoma resolved nothing. Lip service. I am stuck making payments on a car I can’t drive.

I bought a car back in October of 2020. During the pandemic. Their lot was closed to the public. So I had to do my browsing via their website. When I had a car/s in mind I called them and they drove the car to me so I could look at it. A gentleman named Amar helped me through everything and made my first time buying through a dealership very easy and stress free. If I ever had to buy another car I would 100% go through them again.

WORST EVER. GO ELSE WHERE.nI was trying to buy a car from the Honolulu office. I test drove the car twice. The SALES people said it wasn't ready yet and it needed to go though the 100 point inspection I said OK. I TOLD THEM I WANTED THE CAR SO I went and got the loan and got a check as I was doing this I asked them to tell me when it was ready to be picked up. They advised me that they put it at the front of the line FOR ME. They called and said it was ready so I was making my way down there after work. I left work early and made my way there and as I was... They called and said it was sold. WHAT THE F!!!! So they made me do a hard credit pull, cut a check and they sold the car underneath me. WORST EMPLOYEES EVER.

Purchased two vehicles from Hertz Car Sales in Honolulu in the past. In the third attempt to purchase another vehicle, the buying process became unbearable with unprofessional sales and managerial staff, no return/followup calls, delays, and overall bad buying experience.nIn summary, approximately two months of broken promises for the purchase and vehicle delivery from Honolulu to Kauai, we eventually had to cancel the transaction. The vehicle was already paid in advance by Gather FCU on Kauai. Hertz Car Sales managers profusely apologized for the inconvenience and assured us that the $33,653.39 monies paid in advance was going to be refunded by Hertz Corporate to Gather FCU. The verbal refund agreement has been nearly two months ago. Numerous telephonic, emails, and text messages but no response from Hertz Car Sales managers in Honolulu or personnel on the status of the loan payoff. A courtesy call was also made to Hertz Corporate and we were hoping to have some favorable news but no avail also.nIn the meantime, the Credit Union has me two months past due payments of $1,100.00+.nWe would like Hertz cooperate, step up and pay back the $33,653.39 to GATHER FCU so that loan can be removed from my account. It seems to us that a huge cooperation like Hertz would do the simple, easy and rightful action of returning $33,653.39 monies that does not belong to them. We don’t have the luxury to be making $500+ payments on a vehicle we do not have in possession and without a job 8 months since March 2020. The longer the loan is active the more interest is accumulated that I am held responsible also.nIn summary, for potential customers considering to purchase a vehicle from Hertz Car Sales in Honolulu (or anywhere IMO) anytime soon...beware of unprofessional car sales staff, making advance payments, stated or implied (empty) promises from “Used Car Salesmanship”, maybe choose another place to spend your monies!?

Wayne Harp help me thru buying the car without anything to worry. He did continue to service me after the sale the next few days. Answer all my questions. Hertz has no gimmick just straight forward buying and selling. No hidden cost, all spell out on the board in the office wall. Great value can't find it in a dealer. I have been con and lie to by a dealership when I bought my first brand new car...that was way back.
