Red Shale Campground

Absolutely perfect campground, especially given the location. Free campground, so you better clean up after yourself and take pride in the land. At 11 pm, taking star photos, we heard a variety of animal calls. 30 ft trailer, long box pickup and it all fit in a back in spot.

Very clean. A welcome surprise for a no fee campground. A great overnight stopover for self-contained travelers on a long trip through the area. No water. But the bathrooms seem to be cleaned daily. Sites are limited, but we were lucky to find a couple were still vacant just before sunset. Sites are reasonably spaced for privacy. Very close to the highway, so you can hear it but not see it. Trees for shade in most all sites.

No hook ups. No water or dump station. Pit toilets. First come first serve. Quiet and peaceful. Dry camping at it's best.

Beautiful. Clean bathrooms, nice view, nice fire pit. Would definitely recommend

This campground is close to my house and I still enjoy going on there to camp. They have nice tables and fire pits. They also have handicapped accessible bathrooms.
