Mud Lake Wildlife Management Area - Idaho Fish and Game

Huge lake that reminds me more of a marsh in some areas. Tons of birds. Cool place to kayaks or canoe around in.

This lake isn't even made of mud. Very misleading name. It's just a regular lake. I would give one star for that reason alone, but I enjoyed my time out there. Fun place to go fishing with my husband. Definitely not recommended for college students.

Wife and I got away for the weekend. Didn't take our boat, but should have. Lake was quite a bit larger than I expected. All the different birds and noises was neat to hear at night.

So last year I did really good out here. I went out today and never knew how low the water was. There was a bunch of sand. Got waders on headed out just fine, until I got close to the water started to sink fast. Needless to say very dangerous. My advice, wait till water is full. Now when full, there are a lot of birds and multiple species. It's really pretty out here. The fishing is spot on. This is where I've gotten my PB for largies. It 6 lbs 3 oz. There is camping available here. If you have allergies there are a lot of cotton wood trees. There are wild rabbits here and there are water snakes here(non poisonous). Here are some photos.
