Such a beautiful area!!! I loved the little bird huts on the rocks and really enjoyed Coffee Slinger, a coffee place near there. The river was just breath taking!!

I traversed about 2/3 of this trail in February. There is not a lot of greenery in February, but the temperature was nice for a hike. Took 6 children under the age of 7.nnPros: Interesting geological features. Challenging trail grades. Waterside views. A lot of natural untouched landscape. The trail is marked with arrows (see photos). There are dozens of informational signs identifying rocks and plants.nnCons: Much of it is along the highway. The trail can be steep, narrow, and slippery. The 2 year old tripped more than 12 times and once his nose bled so bad I thought he broke it, but he demanded to go on.

Very cool nature hike along the river and through the canyons. Many informative trail signs along the way, and not too highly trafficked.

This is the starting location for the Wilson Canyon Hiking Trail. Plenty of parking and a covered picnic area. The trail has many signs describing the plants and geologic area. Some places are steep, but I would rate this an easy to moderate trail. There is very little shade on the trail. So it best to do in April to early June or early in the morning. We went in late May and there were so many wildflowers blooming. Very beautiful!
