Great area for a picnic. Clean and tidy bathrooms and great view of the Capitan and Ruidoso mountains.
They say it is in Santa Rosa New Mexico, which it is not. The damn us located 15 miles west of Roswell
Great place to meditate I like to come out here by myself personally
An interesting drive off of Hwy 380 down a dirt road for 7 miles. No water in the dam today but the hike out to the top was fun. All the way across the dam and down to the river is about 1.5 miles round trip. There is parking, several picnic areas and restrooms.
Nice quiet place, nice place to view sunsets.
