This was probably some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had.. the rice was incredibly dry and the rolls themselves were missing some serious flavor. I’ve eaten at a variety of sushi joints, and I can easily say this place was subpar, especially for the price. This was definitely not worth the price by any means. To be honest, the best part about this meal was the martinis I ordered.nnI can’t even say the service saved the meal because it was terrible from the start. When we arrived, we said we had a reservation and a manager (I assume) said they would check on our table to see if it was ready and just never came back. We stood there for so long that the server manning the host station said “let me go see what’s taking so long”. Our server maybe checked on us 3 times during our entire meal, not including her dropping the check. And at one point, a random server came to us to ask if we were ready to order and then just snatched the paper off the table, didn’t even confirm any of the items on the paper. Just a very off putting experience overall.

I got a recommendation for this place from a random guy I was chatting with in Vail...and I don’t regret it at all. My mom and I tried the tuna tower, which was delicious, it tasted like guacamole with tuna, and she had the Mrs. Perfect, a salmon sushi dish that even I, a non-salmon lover, could enjoy. Then I ordered the Southwest Trout, and went straight to heaven, I mean this dish was seriously amazing. I’m not really one to finish all the food on my plate, I typically take it home, but I finished the whole thing in under 10 minutes. The skin was perfectly toasted and the meat was moist and flavorful, without getting that fishy aftertaste. Shoutout to Elise, our server for the night, for that recommendation, and for great service. I’ll definitely come again, and hope you guys will too!

Not bad for sushi in a 3,000 resident town. The fact they have to truck everything up there makes it somewhat expensive for sushi (2 people - $110). It's also pure theater to make people wear a mask then they're magically protected once seated and can remove it... once this covid nonsense is subsided I'll have more enjoyment dining out I suppose.

2021 update: yet another amazing experience. Even learned the reason for the name. (Ask your server when you come, because you NEED to visit!)nnWasabi is fire. Service is phenomenal. Sushi is fresh and incredible. Almost missed out since no one we asked had been. Well, we won't go anywhere else!!

We were finishing up our holiday trip with Christmas dinner, and decided on Kemosabe. They did not disappoint! The sushi was all very fresh, beautifully prepared, and delicious! The staff was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back for dinner when we return to the area!
