They somehow removed my first review, so bear with me as I attempt to get this posted for the hundredth time. I worked here before the pandemic hit. The children here are shamed, ignored, and shouted at so much I had kids continually coming to me to ask if they were really bad enough to deserve the scolding. Administration picks favorites. If you work here -- which you shouldn't -- kiss up to everyone you can, otherwise you will be accused of something out of the blue, and no one will give you a chance to defend yourself. I was denied the legal right to make a witness statement on one made-up incident. But the people who made it up WERE allowed to make statements. The principal is very hush-hush if it makes her look bad, or in her own words, "hurts her feelings." Some teachers here are incredible, but because of the toxic and hostile admin/other teachers, they lost 4 of us in one month. We had a 3rd grader in Special ED transfer out because his teachers either shunned him or sent him to somebody else to "deal with him." Absolutely heartbreaking. The gossip is a disease at this school. It is also a rule for obvious moral/legal reasons not to hold a child on your lap, but apparently the principal can, because she admitted to me twice that she has done this before, and avoided me when I asked why she was above the policy. I miss my students and I had some incredible friends within the staff. But admin. will send people to spy on you to gather gossip. I wish I was kidding. They made us paranoid. 2 stars on behalf of the kids and rare gems within staff. But for your sake, don't work here, and more importantly, do not take your children here.

It's a nice school with a good curriculum but some of the teachers are rude and judgemental. The form of disipline isn't effective

Treated my special needs child like dirt for a whole year.claimed they were all special Ed certified.they are not. Second year I pulled her out after only a few weeks and sent her back to her original school. This is a rich kid school and they have nothing we need.

We have been at LLA for four years, my oldest has been going there since Kindergarten. We have been pleased with the school as a whole until this school year (2017-2018). My children have loved their teachers and you can tell the teachers care a great deal about their students. My concern comes in for the administration. We have gone to the administration for the first time this year for a couple of small concerns and we were treated as if our concerns and opinions didn’t matter one ounce. Both times I tried to speak with the administration they definitely did not ‘seek to understand’. The school has lost their ‘family’ feel. Children are at school the majority of their day... I want my children to attend a school where it feels as if they matter and are important, and when ‘simple’ concerns are brought up, it feels as if the concerns are important. So, as far as teachers go... the ones we have had have been awesome. The administration is fine as long as you smile, say hello and keep on walking.

Absolutely couldn't be more happy with this school. I have a son who has struggled with behavior problems and THIS school has made more of a difference in his life than any other school or intervention we have tried. Their reinforcement system, and leadership training is incredible, and helped him to shine. They have many field trips and other opportunities they have not had in other educational settings. We love this school, it's faculty, facility, policies and extra curricular activities. Can't say enough positive about this great school!
