We went to Demarest Hill Winery today. We had never been there before. We had looked at their website and saw that they offered wine tasting. After waiting on along line which was also the line to the restroom, we were informed that they were not they were not having wine tasting. When I told the lady that they should put that on their website, she said oh well what can you do. So basically we when to a liquor store today. Hopefully what we bought is good as we have never had any of their wine before, which is why you go to a wine tasting event.
You people giving this place 1 stars should be ashamed. 2 elderly people run this winery because it was their dream to retire and make wine. Fracesco is a great man and he is running a small business. The way I met him was a random Sunday precovid he was welcoming ,kind and was very generous. So if something is not right help them they are old school. They also can't have tastings they can't afford to get the virus they are high risk call and pick it up . You should know what kind of wine you like just ask for that to be safe.thank you
Amazing place!!! Absolutely gorgeous views, delicious wine, amazing customer service and all around great highly recommended place! We were greeted by the owners who lived next door and are old school Italian wine makers. Since these times make it tough to taste during Covid, we couldn’t do tasting indoors so instead they recommended certain wines which we decided to buy and drink outside which trust me was worth it! Wine is relatively inexpensive, yummy and the owners were so nice as they did not rush as as we looked over all the bottles. I am saddened by some of the reviews as they don’t advertise to be sweet wines but they are good so please ignore the bad reviews the owners are lovely and the wine/view well worth it.
Got a bottle of Muscadell as a gift. Couldn't get past the smell. Tasted like when you lick a 9V battery.
We are avid wine drinkers. We particularly love visiting the Warwick area and giving our business to the smaller vineyards. The low rating for this one kept us away, until this past weekend. Because of Covid they are not allowed to have wine tastings due to no food service available. We were, however, allowed to buy a bottle (or a few), and picnic in their gorgeous outdoor area. The views on this property are spectacular. We got to spend time with the owner. Her husband planted this vineyard after he retired. He worked the land and took pride as a wine maker until he passed in May. His wife is now running the vineyard with the help of the family. Our group bought a bottle of red classico and the cabernet sauvignon. The classico was dry with a nice peppery flavor. The Can was a beautiful blend of chocolate and red wine. It was really delicious. We all left happy with lots of bottles we could enjoy at home. We were really pleasantly surprised by the wine here, and very much enjoyed our time learning about the land and the family. We will definitely be visiting again.
