Sears Auto Center

I've had both my Ford Escape and Chevy Avalanche serviced at the Sears Hanover Auto Center. John the service manager along with the entire service team are exceptional. The communication explaining what is needed for service as well as options which can effect cost is great. Also makes you aware of Sears specials which reduce costs. Quality of product and work has been excellent. The bonus is that you can have this work done on weekends which saves time and money. Big thanks to John and team!

Well, if you’re a woman & feel like being spoken to like a moron this place is perfect! They really know how to bring the mansplaining to the next level. My friend and I had to bring her car in last minute because it was making a concerning noise. As we were asking questions on what could have happened to it out of the blue like this, we were told that the mechanic had been “doing his job for 50 years” and “knows what he’s doing.” We never once insinuated that he didn’t know what he was doing? It was a strangely defensive response to that question. Then he starts lecturing her about things SHE had brought to HIS attention. It was so bizarre. He basically just waited for her to stop talking so he could listen to himself go on about things she had just said...... Attitude problems from grown men who are at their place of employment is ridiculous. Wouldn’t answer any questions. *COULDN’T* is more like it since they really have no idea what they’re talking about. He even had the audacity to ask if she knew how to back her car out... Yeah, she knows how to drive, sir. She’s an EMT who drives ambulances for a living. They were more concerned about getting an appointment so they could get paid before even explaining exactly what the issue was. Like really not letting it go and forced her to just lie and say yeah we’ll be back... so she could leave! They’re sketchy and money hungry. Lots of other reviews of scams they’ve pulled. The guy she was talking to doing the paperwork answered his cell in the middle of their conversation. The whole place is weird, rude, and extremely unprofessional. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s not worth going there even as a last resort like we did. Took it to another mechanic - who is respectful and informative to EVERYONE. Gave it to us straight & is fixing the issue right as we speak! Sears Auto needs to close down sooner than the other businesses in that building. Customers are being scammed and disrespected. It’s gross.

Best place to get maint and repairs in the area. Techs know their job. The staff are a pleasure to work with

Horrible service. Horrible employees. And even when reported to Sears Customer service they didnt care.nnThe guy who works at the front desk, John, is a sexist. He let 3 men cut me in line when I had an appointment and then walked away when I came up to the counter. He did things like this more times during the incident and treated every male with respect and treated me with absolutely none. The man should have been fired but after this incident it's clear Sears doesnt care about their customers.nI went for an oil change, after being told it would be done in an hour I returned to get my car. John ignored me again for some time then said he would check on my car. He returned to tell me it needed at least another 45mins.nAt this point I was extremely annoyed so I went outside to get fresh air. When I did so I saw one of the mechanics running thru the lot to my car. They hadnt even taken my car, it was now already almost 2hrs since my appointment time.nNow I was angry and went back in. This time John told me if I go to the doctors theyre late, what should I expect and didnt care. I asked to speak to a manager and he refused to get him. When I finally said I would be reporting this incident to the higher ups he told me that one of the men standing in there earlier was a State Trooper and he and the trooper would tell whatever version they felt like. I asked if it was a threat and he wouldnt respond. Finally my car finished and I stormed off refusing to sign any paperwork.n3 days later the manager Don, called me and told me Johns personal problems excusing his behavior and offered 2 oil changes. I said after the way I was treated I would never return. Don said he would talk to Sears and get back to me that Saturday (2 days later). I never heard from him again until I emailed Sears asking if employees actually had been spoken to.nSears never responded. Don never got back to me. John still works there.nIf Sears is wondering why theyre going bankrupt this is it.

Didn't properly secure my belt while changing my alternator. I almost died on the highway off ramp with no power steering. My water pump burst because of this. These bastarda took no responsibility. Wanted to charge me 750 to fix water pump. Got it done for 250. They did fix the alternator after we go in their face. They are the absolute worst here and your vehicle is not safe if they work on it.
