Really nice hiking! Don’t follow Google’s shady directions onto what appears to be an ATV trail (on either side!). Instead take the road that goes along the northern side of the park as indicated by the red line on the map photo I included. You may also be able to search for the ski area. You park across the street from the ski area and then the trailhead is back down the road a little bit, on the same side as the ski area.nnWe took the trail to Shaw Pond and it was a nice hike, not too hard and not too easy. There’s a 3 sided shelter and a campfire ting at the pond. We saw only one other pair hiking, mid day on a sunny 65 degree Saturday in June. There are other trails but it’s hard to decipher where they go. If I lived nearby I’d definitely explore. There’s a really nice disc golf course too! I think that starts at the ski area and then overlaps with the trail.

I really enjoyed my horseback riding through the woods and up and down the hills, creeks, and trails. My first experience riding a horse and I can’t wait to try it again. Horses are such majestic creatures and it eludes me as to why they allow us to ride them, but none the less, my horse (Cindy) was nice and calm.

Another hidden gem where there is plenty of trails, it feels remote and I have never run into anyone. Love this place.

A little difficult to figure where to park and start hiking but found lot near ski slope and trail started just back a bit. Hiked about a mile in to a lake on marked trails. Bugs in August were horrible if you stop for even 10 seconds. Nice trail though. Free parking.
