I love hiking and snowshoeing here depending on the season. It is an easy Trail for the average hiker. As a disabled hiker I find it moderate. The main trail from Avery Hill Road that goes to the summit and loops around back down, is about 1.7 miles, and the view from the summit, in my opinion, is the best view of Lake Winnipesaukee and the mountains in the distance compared to other peaks in the Belknap range. There is another trail that begins at Alton Mountain Road and goes to the summit, but it is a little more straight up so it's steeper than the other way. But none of the trails are exceedingly steep and are good for people who are seasoned hikers and for people just starting out.
