This is the worse middle school in Brockton & probably in the entire south shore if you ask me. It had to take such a horrible bullying incident outside the school for officers to be placed on premises after school. What makes matters worse is that some of the teachers (specifically 7th grade ones) are bullies themselves! They have no empathy for special needs students & this school makes no effort to accommodate special education children in an environment suitable for their needs. If anything some of the teachers make matters worse by shaming students in front of the entire class! Bullying concerns are a joke to administrators at this school! Had to take a child being beaten & dragged for someone to step in & up security, what a shame! I honestly hope the superintendent of Brockton public schools steps in & takes drastic measures against the horrible bullying & incompetent administrators at this school & that special education students receive the education & treatment they deserve! Staff members that overlook bullying & that shame students should be reprimanded immediately & if parents complain & ask for help something should be done! Cries for help from concerned parents or bullied children should NEVER be ignored as is done most of the time in this school! I think the superintendent should request that educators at South Middle School go back to the basics & complete seminars in special education & bullying & require that all staff members (especially teachers) be tested by the state & receive certificates of completion! Yes, the state needs to seriously test these educators on their special education skills & their skills on how to PROPERLY deal with bullying & teach them not to be bullies themselves!

GO SOUTH DRAGONS! I loved going to this school. 6th-8th grade. The staff there were amazing. They care about every student as if they were family. When I was there the principal and Mr. Karo, assistant principal was Ms. O'Lanson and the associate principal Mr. Pomfret

Went there '71-'72, was called South Junior High School back then, 7th and 8th grades only. Henry Pease was principal, and he ran a tight ship. Great teachers, great sports program, loved it.
