Great place to see birds. Come in January and February to see the bald eagles!

Didn't spend much time there, but some thoughts: 1. Looks like great infrastructure when it comes to the center. The displays were a little lacking in the main building, but from what I understand the building is relatively new. Time will bring more, AND they had a white board asking for recommendations. 2. I'm not from the area, so I really didn't know how to properly explore the grounds or what to expect. An incredible volunteer walked me through all the details and was just an amazing human being. 3. The trails were nice and offered a much more freshwater marsh experience than the Bear River Refuge and Antelope Island I had just been to. It's nice to know where a variety of habitats are for birding. Overall great place, and I'm always happy to see an organization invested in science outreach and education.

Went in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Wish I had gone earlier or later in the day, because I think the heat of the day kept a lot of the birds in their nests. We went on a 1.6 mile loop (with two kids, four and five.) Shade was sparse, needed sunscreen. Fair number of bugs, too. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They showed us the trailhead, and provided us with a scavenger hunt checklist. The education center had binoculars to look at the distant nests and flying birds. I'm planning to go back sometime.

This place is under construction as of April 2018 and when it opens, I'll be sure to take my kids here. It looks like it will be much nicer than the old buildings. The trail is still accessible. If you park at the gate on Glovers Lane, it's about a 2 mile loop to walk around the pond area. It is a great little running trail when the bugs aren't too bad and it includes some wooden walkways built over the water. Great place to see birds and an occasional deer or fox!

The George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Wildlife Education Center is a small but a beautiful education center in the Farmington Bay for the displays, cleanliness and ambience. The display of birds is very nicely done showing most of the birds you can spot in the Farmington bay and surroundings. The people at the reception are very courteous and willing to provide answers to any question relating to the area and the birds displayed. Certainly a place to visit if you are in the area, before you venture out to visit the bay either by car or walking the many trails available.
