This was a great trip for the day. Seen lots of wild life. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the area & wild life. Will definitely go again.
We took the nature tour su set tour. Despite the fog we had a great time. The crew was fantastic and the captain did everything he could to get us safely to the coast so we could the land.nDefinitely recommend the.tours
Had two tours booked. One for Puffins and Lighthouses, one for Whales. They cancelled both and tried to book us on the Nature Cruise that wasn't available yesterday. I understand the limiting factors for COVID-19. But I was also told they often cancel tours for weather reasons in order to fill other tours. Your best bet is to look at other companies.
I'm usually very skeptical about these touristy boat tours, but I was blown away by the Nature and Sunset Tour guided by the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co.nnMajority of the 2 hour trip you are cruising at about 7-8 knots. There is one section of the tour where you move at 26 knots. I used my new Garmin for this irrelevant information so don't quote me on that.nnThe staff was very friendly and accommodating considering they have to deal with a boat filled with arrogant tourists all day. I thought they did a great job with making the most out of what they could with these covid regulations.nnTour guide was very knowledgeable and dropped facts on us left and right. I learned the lighthouse was built in the 1870s.nnWe were able to observe different species of seabirds, seals, and a last minute appearance by the American bald eagle.nnIf you enjoy scenery, or just have an appreciation for nature, then I highly recommend this tour.
We ended up having to cancel other plans and decided to hop on for the afternoon nature cruise. Our guide was wonderful! We saw tons of animals: porpoises, seals, cormorants, and numerous bald eagles, among others. Definitely a highlight of our trip!
