The lobster tails were off the top. Some of the best lobster I’ve had in a LONG time. Our server Katie, was amazing as well, she was so kind, and whenever we asked for something she went and got it right away. The chocolate cake was so rich and creamy, I savored it. I’m visiting from Virginia, and this is one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at so far.

Excellent dinner experience here. Food was deliciousnWaiter was excellentnDinner consisted of lobster tail, crab cake and grilled scallops. ALL DELICIOUS.nAlso the shrimp cocktail was probably the best I remember having. Their cocktail sauce is homemade.nTheir house salad dressing is amazing

Overall disappointing. Came early and got seated right away. However, there are different sections for seating inside. Some tables are closer to the window and some are more inside the center of the building. We were seated deeper inside. Spacing felt like it was one table too much in each room.nnOur waitress was fantastic and had a great attitude. The one thing I’d like to mention is it felt like a long time between courses and service.nnThe early special lobster deal with a cup of clam chowder is a deal for $31 but it really isn’t. The clam chowder was decent. But there wasn’t much in the lobster but I guess that’s expected. You don’t get that much lobster meat in a single lobster. The wild rice and asparagus was inedible. The rice was just dry and flavorless. It would probably be a better idea to get the lobster roll.nnLemon flavor was overwhelming in the lemon chicken pasta.nnThe squash cakes were good and the arugula salad was very good. And the apple blueberry crisp is a MUST! So the food was a mixed bag. Service was mixed. Waitress was great but ambiance and the length of time could be improved. Overall, I won’t consider returning.

Beautiful culinary experience at Gaylyn’s! Our waiter Stephen was cordial, attentive & professional; he made us feel comfortable and was able to make great suggestions. Excellent blueberry martinis made with local ingredients. The oysters Rockefeller were sublime— pillowy, delicate and a subtle combination of flavors. Our main entrees were beautifully prepared, with high recommendations to the haddock with arugula pesto. The chef at Gaylyn’s clearly knows how to prepare seafood. Both entrees let the seafood shine with a beautiful backdrop of flavors that did not overwhelm the expertly prepared seafood. Our dinner was topped off with a warm blueberry crumble with vanilla ice cream that was exquisite. Highly recommend Gaylyn’s for a meal that stands out in Bar Harbor.

We went here for happy hour and appetizers! Great drinks (and at a great price during happy hour!), especially the blueberry mojito! Would definitely recommend the clam chowder! The staff was very friendly and accommodating!
