At the beginning of 2019 I had developed pneumonia and in an attempt to diagnose the cause, my physician ordered what should have been a simple diagnostic procedure. Unfortunately, the procedure went very wrong and I needed to be rushed to a larger hospital where they saved my life. In order to prevent me from dying from blood loss, they had to perform an emergency splenectomy to remove my damaged spleen. The operation meant they had to make an incision from my sternum to my pubic bone, the recovery was long and very painful. Nine months later, my abdominal wall failed due to the surgery and so I had to undergo yet another operation to reconstruct my abdominal muscles. This resulted in yet another long and painful recovery. As a result of all of this, my family faced a long physical, emotional and mental healing period. Taylor Asen helped us to navigate some of the most difficult times we have faced.nnTaylor was incredibly compassionate and thoughtful in helping us to understand the complexities of a case like ours.
