I have worked with Paul for two years.This is a gift I give myself. As an older person, what I most appreciate about Paul is that each session is customized for me and where both my mind AND body are when I walk into the studio. This is not circuit training with sets and reps! Paul really focuses on a series of movements that work all major and minor muscle groups. It is not monotonous or boring. Although there are some machines, the majority of training involves resistance bands, balance and using the body as the weights. Because it doesn't involve machines, it is easy to replicate most of the exercises at home with free weights and resistance bands. He brings years of experience to challenge and improve the health of any body, no matter the age or condition.

On a whim, I reached out to Paul regarding building a home gym. 2 weeks later, I have an incredible functional home gym. Paul was super knowledgeable and extremely helpful in designing my home gym in a tight space. He was very responsive to me and made sure it was going to get done right and ASAP. He helped me with every aspect including flooring, installation, design, delivery, and equipment selection...I can't recommend Paul and his business enough.

Having surgery, I needed slowly to get back in shape. Walking in the therapy pool has worked fantastic. Clean and friendly staff willing to answer all questions.

Love this gym. There is an abundance and well maintained equipment and the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating.Give it 5 stars.

Paul is THE MAN!!! Excellent facility and team of trainers and works with you no matter where you are at in your fitness journey. And for those who want a home gym, their team can get you hooked up with the best piece of equipment to achieve your fitness goals, and deliver and assemble it at your home. Whether you are looking for a personal trainer in the Northwest Suburbs or fitness equipment for your home, Barrington's Functional Fitness is highly recommended!! :)
