It's a real amazing place to fish , there's just one thing that really plays into enjoying fishing at Shabbona ,if your on the shore you have to go fishing on a light breeze day. When you do end out going fish on the shore with a normal breeze you'll have a 50/50 chance to catch something . The only time that those rule don't apply is when you have a boat or when there's a certain fishing season like Crappie season or Walleye season. I'm soon to be getting a boat I'll be giving a new review when I have some info on fishing with a Boat at Shabbona .

A beautiful state park that is well preserved and is fun for bringing the whole family. With nature trails, a play ground, boating docks, and a ice cream shop all available to the public. We didn't even get to all the nature trails that were provided in the area, but I hope to come back again soon to see them.

We enjoyed camping and fishing at Shabbona Lake State Park. Weekdays were quieter than the weekends, but it was always very nice. We usually caught quite a few fish. Check-in with park staff was very quick. Look for the sign to see which camp host is on duty. Racoons come out at night to scavenge whatever food they can get into and are very creative about getting into containers left outside.

A very beautiful lake setting with plenty of room to relax. And go hiking or fishing. The campground is also very nice. With large wooded spot and large fire rings.

We go here alot. It's a beautiful place to take dog walks, kayaks, fishing poles, and we hope in the future our horses. Each season is different. It's well maintained. Thiers a boat rental and a bait and tackle shop. Also the restaurant is fun in the summer and fall.
