Why do the hours say 24 hours but the doors were locked at 2:30am and nobody was by the counter???

On May 1, 2018, there was an incident with an Employee by the name of Patrick being racist towards a my boyfriend as a customer and refusing to provide him service. When he asked to be rung out, the employee by the name of Patrick who works at the 7-Eleven on 4500 West 63rd Street, Chicago, IL 60629, refused service and had him removed via police when he was not a threat at all. The incident started with his first transaction. He gave Patrick 5 bucks for his items and he threw his change at him. My boyfriend simply asked him why did he throw his change and that it was not professional. Furthermore, my boyfriend decided to not make a big deal out of it anymore and remembered to grab a soda for the rest of his ride home from his late shift at work. At this time, Patrick decided he didn't want to provide him service. So, he contacts the police and lies about being threatened. The police comes and ask my boyfriend to leave the store when he didn't pose a threat to Patrick at all. However, it is stated that this employee has committed this act a number of times. When I went to speak with management the next morning, i was told by a customer listening in the store and the two employees working that Patrick gets a great deal of racist complaints all the time. The customer stated to the store employees that she has been in to the store a number of times and has seen the employee's racist behavior. He is not only racist to men but to women of color as well. And, it was mentioned that Patrick is known for calling the police and having people removed from the store even if they did nothing wrong. Next, it was stated that management is aware of Patrick's behavior but he is still employed and giving terrible service towards men and women of color. I am not sure he is getting any disciplinary actions towards his behavior. His actions are terrible and makes me and others never wanting to shop at 7-Eleven again.

I come to this 7/11 every morning before work and can say that they really start up my morning. The staff is always so nice to me even when I look awful! Thank you Patrick for doing the most to get me my coffee! Patrick is the best, he's always very chatty in the morning which lightens up my mood.

Yooo i went in at 12:00am and nobody was in the store. the door was locked. i thought this was open 24/7 but i guess not.

Awesome Service! I forgot my phone on the counter this morning and the customer service representative Patrick gave it back! He was honest and very empathetic to my situation. Trust Worthy Staff!
