YWCA

My friend recommended YWCA in Rock Island after my daughter was born because her son went there and they had cameras. At first it seemed like a great place to take her, after having a couple of small issues in the beginning things had been okay. The teachers and assists in the baby room were friendly(one in particular is amazing.) Though the longer she went the more problems I had, I came to pick her up early one day and she had pooped through her diaper and clothes. I understand things happen, but they hadn't even realized it until they gave her to me and I noticed it was coming through her clothes. Another issue was that they were giving me back the wrong bottles/nibbles, my daughter did not have teeth at the time and I was getting back nibbles with teeth whole and cut marks from making the nibbles bigger. I was in the middle of looking for a different job so for a few months she didn't go to their daycare. After I came back, the first day her dad went to pick her up and they told him he couldn't without an ID (I had given him the last four of my social because that's what you enter in the system to pick up.) They never mentioned an ID only that whoever picked up needed the last four numbers, so he had to leave to get his ID and come back. By the time he got back it was 15 minutes past the time they close and told us we would need to pay $15 for the 15 minutes he was late before she could even come back. When I let them know I wasn't told about the ID all they said was it's in the handbook(which is a huge amount of paperwork to fill out and a part I didn't sign because it was on the back of one of the papers.) They made it a point to tell me about the social but never about the ID, then to of course to make it worse I get home to make her bottle and sure enough I was given the wrong nibble again. Searching for a better daycare and will never recommend.

Every single lady that I have met here has been amazing. The care they provide for my baby is unmatched. They are attentive, positive, caring, helpful, CLEAN, and SAFE. I am so grateful for every one of them and they make life that much easier knowing that my baby is well taken care of.

The YWCA has an amazing child care program. The staff are excellent and my children love attending!

The one Y in the area you have to have a private membership for. Dumb.. i called ahead to make sure my membership would work befor going all the way down there only to get turned away at the door. Way to go R.Island Y.
