Extremely rude front desk. I had a $25 copay. The appointment was for my husband. Since I had medicare and another supplemental I have never had to pay a copay.nI did not bring the correct credit card and the young girl at the desk said Dr. Ikard Jr would not see him unless we paid the $25 right then.nI told her I could call it in and she said I would need to reschedule if I did not have the $25 that day.nI feel any doctor who puts a value on a patient is not the kind if doctor I want to put my husbands care in.nIf refusing a patient for $25 is our “new” new, then I’ll go somewhere else where my husband is worth more than $25 .nUOC is where money is far more important than a patients care.nThey would have gotten their money if the front desk girl was more professional and would listen to me but we were blown off by her.nThus my 1 star rating. If I could give a negative I would. Staff should show more understanding

Staff is not helpful and incompetent.... there is such a lack of communication and knowledge at the front desk. I was in Biloxi, Mississippi early that day. I called the office at 9:50am and asked if I get to the office 15 minutes late, could I still be seen. The receptionist said, “Yes, as long as it’s within 30 minutes of your scheduled appointment”. I knew that I can make my 3 hour and 50 minute drive in time to get there with 15 minutes to spare so I made the drive to Tuscaloosa. When I was 20 minutes from the office I called to ensure I can be seen and the same receptionist said no the doctor cannot see me. She completely contradicted her original statement and wasted a full 8 hours of driving and gas with no consideration to my particular situation. I will never recommend an office with an incompetent front desk staff and lack of care that I made a distant drive under unforeseen circumstances. If only they had the integrity to follow the original statement provided to me may I have had a totally different experience.

I WAS A PATIENT OF DR.JOHN P.BUCKLEY SINCE 1985.I LAST SAW THIS WONDERFUL MAN AND DOCTOR IN FEB.OF 2017.THE NEXT FEB.I WAS TOLD HE RETIRED PREVIOUS DEC..I CRIED LIKE A BABY.HE WAS A DOCTOR THAT WAS CALM GOOD SPITIT,ALWAYS TOOK TIME TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS.HE PASSED AWAY EARLY OF 2020.ONLY 2 YRS.OF RETIREMENT.IT BROKE MY HEART.LAST TIME I WAS AT UOC.WAS THE LAST TIME.I HAVENT SET A FOOT IN THERE SINCE DR.BUCKLEY PASSED.I TRIED TO GET AN APPT SINCE,BUT WAS TOLD SINCE MY DOCTOR RETIRED,I WOULD HAVE TO BE TREATED AS A NEW PATIENT.I TOLD THEM NO WAY.I WAS A PATIENT FROM 1985 - 2017.DR.BUCKLEY ALL THOSE YEARS.THEY WANTED HIM OUT I WAS TOLD LAST TIME I WAS THERE NY A NURSE.THEY SAID HE TOOK UP TOO MUCH TIME WITH PATIENTS.HE WAS ONE OE DOCTORS THAT STARTED UOC IN 1974.THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED.RIP DR.BUCKLEY.LOVE YOU❤.its true about rude staff too.

Staff is very rude. I’ve called 6 times to schedule an appointment. Female that answers the phone catches an attitude very quickly.

DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! Doctors may be good but the staff getting to them does not tell the truth and then cops attitude...I called a week before and specifically asked about them taking my insurance...they said yes the did...I specifically asked if they were network and they said yes...I made the appt and showed up after a 1.5 hour drive. Signed in, waited and they said they didn't have a referral from my doc...when they told me the week before they did...ok got that fixed...after waiting again they tell me they are in fact not in network for my insurance after I specifically asked that question prior to making the appt. They told me I could be seen if I paid the amount for the visit but they wouldn't honor what they told me on the phone...after the clerk at the checkout window got cynical, I grabbed my imagery and stormed out for a 1.5 hour drive home only to find out that now I have to start over and find another doctor and live with this pain even longer...if possible and you have a choice, SEE ANOTHER CLINIC...DO NOT GO TO UNIVERSITY ORTHO!!!
