Great place to camp, visit, not far from Tuscaloosa. We did a day trip here in the winter. The lake is beautiful. There is a spillway at one end where there are picnic tables and restroom - yes, outhouse style, but that's fine. We tried a little hike on the trail marked with blue diamond blazes. The tree markers are great, but no one has done any trail maintenance recently - hard to see where the trail is. There are swimming beaches on both sides of the lake, on one side, they look kind of abandoned. There were also camping sites on both sides of the lakes with fire pit/grills, camping tables, lantern posts. There were many hunting parties camping there. A friendly campsite host/ranger kept a close eye on all goings on in the park. Next time we will bring the canoe!

Absolutely beautiful little park. “Country quite”, no urban noise just frogs and crickets. Camp host is very friendly and his dog is awesome! Will be back with the family.

My favorite campground to date. Water, electric, level campsite, picnic table, fire ring and firewood. $9 a day with America the Beautiful Senior Pass. Parked by the lake, gorgeous view of rising mist and reflection of Fall foliage. Hated to leave but weather is coming.

Really enjoyed our stay. We finally found a park that had nothing wrong. The sites are spacious and well thought out. The restrooms are well maintained and there is lots to do. This was a very peaceful place. We were only going to stay for 2 days, but ended up staying for a week. We will be back.

This is a slice of heaven, we were going to stay 3 days and wound up staying a week, its very quiet, beautiful lake and lots of woods to rome.nThe camp host Ron is awsome makes a presents to let you know he has your back but not in a weird way, he is a true southern gentleman, I bet he has a lot of story's to tell.
