We walked down to Raven's Rock on this trail, which is a nice walk through a forest with plenty of boulders, and little brooks running near the trail. It's a mild downhill most of the way, and then a fairly steep uphill for a short period close to the end.nnThe view at Raven's Rock is amazing, and I would definitely come back. From these large flat rocks you can see the mountains on either side, with the canyon and the Cheat River running through it. Watch out for the rock edges because there are drop-offs.nnThere doesn't appear to be a proper trail down to the river anywhere, but if you cut to the left of the trail where there is a brook running down, and followed it, it seems you'd end up at the bottom of the canyon on the rocky riverbank.nnThe parking area is a bit small for the popularity of this spot, and others nearby. It fills up quickly, and many people park along the side of the road, although I cannot comment on whether you'd get ticketed or not.

This hike never gets old and neither does the view! Additional parking is just past the trailhead on the right and you can walk the roadside trail back to the ravens rock trailhead- sometimes the main parking area is busy. About 3.3 mile round trip (out and back).

Loved this trail. The overlook was incredible and we will definitely take that one again! Not a very hard one and only the very last bit is steep in any way. The rest a very slight incline.
