I have recently joined as a member of this congregation. The community is very welcoming. LGBT friendly. The prior rabbi and the current rabbi along with numerous people from the Shul genuinely care about the well being of others. I am ever grateful for them providing a Jewish presence here in Lubbock. Anyone coming in search of meaning and community will not be disappointed.

We were new to town and seeking a congregation. We sat in the middle row of the middle section in unmarked seats and were asked to sit in the back, weird, but we moved. Then we were asked to move to the side section, a little frustrated, we moved to the middle of the side section. Then someone asked if we were students, yes, and we were told to move to the back of the side section. Instead of anyone saying 'hello' or 'welcome', we kept getting pushed back to the last row. We said hello to several people afterwards, but nobody spoke a word back. Sad that this is the only synagogue around.
