Beth El attemps to create an environment where Jews and all who are interested can feel comfortable. The synagogue is relatively apolitical other than to promote equality. The rabbi is an open minded individual who is heavily involved in the Tyler community and has relationships with many of the various Christian congregations in the area. If a visitor wishes to learn or worship all are welcome and individuals can either just show up or make arrangements through their own clergy to visit. The website has a calendar of events such as classes, lectures and services.
