We really liked staying at the Mountain View Campground. They have electric and water hook ups (sorry gotta truck your own sewage, but there are restrooms). Canopy's over the picnic tables and firepits. All sitting on a concrete pad. The RV pad made of asphalt making it really east to level. Our spot was surrounded with grass which was really great for the kids. But be aware not all the spots have grass.
The overall cleanliness of the Mountain View Campground area was very clean and well taken care of. The showers have warm running water and are fairly clean for bring a state ran facility which was nice. There is a nice large open grass area right near there showers for lawn games if you so please.
You also don't fill like you are packed in like sardines. There is plenty of distance between each RV spot. Plenty of parking for those hauling boats in a separate boat parking area right next to the showers.
The beach section of Starvation State Park is a short drive (1/4 mile )from the Mountain View campground. There is plenty of parking, boat ramp, and a Beach large enough for all the RV patrons and visitors alike. Though later in the season as the water drops it can be a couple of hundred yards from the parking lot to the water.
Cons - It was breezy with a couple of stronger gusts the three days we were there. But over all a non issue for us.
So if you are looking for beautiful scenery (red rock, bluff type), not super crowded, away from the city, inexpensive ($28 a night) lake type RV park place to hit up this is a good one.
It's very nice the spaces are big you can see the reservoir better. And the camp host are always helpful and nice. All long with the fish and game.
What a great experience, the Ranger very polite and helpful as well as the rest of the staff. Can't wait to get back.
Very nice and clean. Would like to have attendant around if we had a problem
This is a beautiful place with great facilities. The only issue is the wind can be bad at times.
