First time visit to a TDC facility. I prepped as much as I could regarding visitor expectations. ALL of the staff I dealt with were cordial and explained procedures in advance. Several went out of their way to answer questions or provide avenues for seeking information. My lady I was visiting was highly complimentary of her dealings with the staff on the inside along with overall conditions and meals.

When I drove up to the guard at the front there was only one car a head of me. They talked for along time. Then the guy left. All in all it took about 15 minute for me just to get through the guard and park. At the entrance to the building it seemed to take a really long time too. Their wasn't that many people their. It's seemed like the guard wasn't staying with his task. It took another twenty minutes to get into the visitation area. They ask if I wanted to buy a picture for three bucks. I so I bought a picture. Then I sat in the visitation area for thirty minutes. At that point they started acting like where was the person I came to see. It was pretty obvious no one ever sent for her. I talked to her later that day. They never even call her down for the visit. I was going to have to make it a short visit anyway. I end up leaving without seeing my friend and waisted three bucks on a picture I never received. I drove down from McKinney, Texas and needed to be back in time for dinner with my kids. The hole trip was just a waist of time and money. To bad you can't give them less than one star. This place really sucks.

This prison took care of my mom and all her medical needs nurses and guards were respectful
