Blue Bear Mountain

We stayed in the cabin at Blue Bear Mountain Campground and had a wonderful time. Mike was awesome and provided a lot of information about the trails within the campground. The cabin was very clean! It does not have a full bathroom (only a toilet) but the bathhouse was a short walk. The campground and trails were nicely maintained.

Beautiful campground. Lots of trails and nice view. Can purchase firewood. Mike is very kind and helpful. Be aware there are limited showers but they offer hot water and privacy.

Very awesome place to stay! Off the beaten path and secluded. Winter time here is a blast! Great hills for snow boarding and sledding! Please take care to take advice of the campground when there is potential adverse weather conditions in the winter time. Super nice management!

I have traveled all over country for months at a time, and camped in NC Blue Ridge for 30 years, and this was the worst place ever been. Bathrooms had issues that could easily,, quickly been fixed (it's 10 minutes from hardware store) but they let it go days. When complained, the owner was rude and tried to treat me like a child (I did not let her get away with it). There is no shade, which can make it unpleasant in the hot NC summer. Cars got stuck on the grass (there were no private campsites, no tent or car pads) and again, owners did nothing to help, sat back drinking while watching a bunch of little girls try to push a minivan up hill.

Fun space. Not an easy one to get to. Don't trust Google maps if you're coming from the east. No campsite hookups, so you'll be relying on what your rig can hold.
