I would like to take this time to thank the principal for letting go of one of the best teachers he had at Douglass but because he had a big ego and felt since he was in control he could do what he wanted, but I will say this this is what's wrong with black people when they have a little power it goes to their head, when you have someone that is dedicated and gives there all you want to bring them down so long as you can keep your status, well I say to you your school lost because the person you let go will go on to bigger and better things and you will never be more than you are know, so I hope that you do not come across the same fate that you have shown you teachers, but then karma is a, so you take care and remember a leader is only good when he can lead and by all accounts you cannot lead. Your students will suffer.

This is our first year from Alexandria, Va. The hospitality that was given to us alone had us not to pick or look at another school. All staff from the janitor's to the top level was beyond helpful to us. Ms. Harrington and Ms. Allen made my transition as a mom so great being that my job is still on the other side of town. Queen and Coach Duke have a passion to push kids mentally and physically to their potential. The staff is a reflection of Dr. Hurt the new principal and their own character. We had plenty of choices. Our son is not at this school because he's behind. We as his parents was able to discern that if he needed the extra help, the staff at Frederick Douglass was going to do everything within their power with the help of parental involvement to get him the help that's required. I'm so excited about this school and such a happy mom that I can't wait for the years to come of this school. I'm praying that every child coming out of Douglass becomes great so they can give back what was given to them. Well done Dr. Hurt and Douglass staff!

Great school. great vision. love the RAMP program. criminal justice. and early college institute. The staff is great and friendly and welcoming. I voluntarily transferred my son from Baltimore Polytechnic to Fredrick Douglas. because I loved the program, and the support he gets from the staff, he is in the RAMP program and the early college institute earning college credits while in high school. I can't express how much difference the staff makes, and what a great vision. The best turn around school.

I had a chance to visit Douglas H.S.'s Media Center.....I was just blown away by how advance the technology was. The young men were well mannered and well learned about all the different aspects. I think they wanted to impress me....and they did!
