My daughter loves this school which is very important to me. The teachers are attentive and communicate successes as well as areas that need improvement. I couldn't give a high enough praise!
I went to this school for my freshman year and it was honestly one of the best years of my life. This school consistently gets a bad rep simply due to the stereotypical “crowd” that nearly everyone seems to believe resides within its walls, however your child’s or your own success depends on who you hang out with, which is prominent within every academic and social situation you face in life. It’s so easy to make friends here, regardless of what “group” you follow, and it seemed like everyone was friends with everyone. There isn’t really a “clique” issue at this school at all, which is a breath of fresh air. But I wouldn’t suggest breathing in too deep cuz the other reviews aren’t lying it smells like cigarettes 80% of the time lol.
I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS SCHOOL A NEG NUMBER. SCHOOL IS SOOOO BAD AND THE PRINCIPAL AND ADMINISTRATORS ARE IS WORST. PRINCIPAL DOES NOT RETURN CALLS AND DOES NOT DO HIS JOB! WORST EVER! THEY WANTED THE OLD PRINCIPAL OUT AND LOOK WHAT THEY GOT IN RETURN. TOTAL ZERO
Honestly, spending my freshman year at Kenwood high school was not all that bad. Yes there was some problematic areas but we have a great international baccalaureate program a great sport science program and teachers were willing to help you day in and day out. All you have to do is follow the right crowd and you'll be fine. Kenwood is not this halfway house that people make it out to be. It's not all that bad. If you send your student they won't come back a thug, or a drug dealer, or any of that I've met some of the greatest teachers that are willing to talk to me any day about anything at anytime. And if you're so worried about your student getting hooked with the wrong people put them in ROTC or SGA or any other afterschool programs but they will be fine. we have to get the stars up.
The school has many enviormental issues an teachin isuses teach aint teech good eva drug deals eva where i doesent trust meself goin hear
