I love this place. Went during the day and really enjoyed all the street vendors. A really good street band was playing awesome music and local artists had their art out for sale. It is a really great spot to check out. Pictures in front of the fountain with the church in the backdrop look great.

Reminds me of a plaza from a European city.

One of the top 10 things to do and see in New Orleans. The beautiful park is well maintained, family friendly and a place you can rest on a bench under magnificent old trees while enjoying some quiet in an otherwise often noisy city. The park contains an equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson at its center. The park is surrounded on four sides by street vendors, artists, musicians, card readers, and assorted street performers. As my then 8 year old son said when I first visited with him in 1994... “I like New Orleans, it is such a (dramatic pause) happy place!”

This place is just a nice spot to walk around or did and enjoy the weather. There was a guy across the street singing who has trained his dog to retrieve money from watchers and bring it back to him. Pretty smart I would say.. watched him collect about $20 in 20 minutes, including the $2 I gave.. that's about $60/hr or $120k/yr. Smart dog, even smarter man.. really talented singer/entertainer as well.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. This last time I got the creole combo which included red beans and rice and a cup of gumbo. Both were really good. And while there are better Hurricanes in the French Quarter, the two I had here were pretty good also. The fact is, the only complaint I have with this restaurant is they took the open face roast beef po' boy with gravy off the menu a few years back. I LOVED that sandwich!!!!! But, the other food is good enough for me to go back again and again. We were only in town for the one meal this time and this is where we ate so......
