El Paso Mexican Grill

This was a great place to go when they first opened their business but the service has gradually degraded over time. The last three times visiting the establishmentnHave resulted in sub par service. The first two times we received poor service from unfriendly staff and the last time (April 5, 2021) the staff was too busy visiting and cutting up with their friends to even bring the chips out to the table. We waited 10 minutes then just got up and left. The last time was enough for me and they have lost my business for good. Unfortunately this isn't isolated events. I've talked to several people that have received the same service.

A big crowd for Friday night

We love El Paso Mexican restaurants. We’ve visited Kenner, LA, Baton Rouge, LA. This is the first visit to the Central location. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because they had a band there tonight, but the service was nonexistent. We were seated and forgotten. Don’t seat customers where there is no waiter/waitress. We felt uncomfortable because the other servers were not able to help when we flagged them down.nOn a side note, the food was good and so were the margaritas.

Normally I really like this place but tonight we ate there and my daughter ordered a combination plate that came with an enchilada and a taco and rice and beans. She substituted grilled chicken for the ground beef and had queso added to her enchilada. Her plate went from a 12. Dollar plate of food to 18 dollars for this change. Ahead of time when ordering we were never told that there would be a 5.00 increase to have grilled chicken instead of ground beef. When the bill came I told the server that I thought something was wrong I knew we didn’t order an 18 dollar plate of food. My daughters plate only had on it one taco one enchilada and rice.nnThe server starts explaining all the things that were upcharged. I said usually you are told about that ahead of time, I asked to speak to the manager who absolutely refused to do anything about it. She said in the future they would make sure to tell the customers upfront.nnI said well that doesn’t do anything for us. I asked her several times if she could do anything and refused over and over.nnI have a hard time understanding how the cost of an entire chicken is added to the bill for one enchilada, to change fromnGround beef to grilled chicken.nnI feel that the manager was unreasonable not to show some appreciation for the fact that we were blindsided with this large bill. But she absolutely refused to accommodate us.nWhat happened to the customer is always right.nnI told the manager that we would not be back and I guess she didn’t care.nnPoor customer servicennI keep waiting on my message from management where they would like to make this right but so far NOTHING!

Quick service, great tasting food. Sometimes live music. A hidden gem, a lot of people wouldnt stop there because it is hidden behind the truck stop but that's their loss. We always enjoy this place compared to other mexican restaurants nearby.
