Massive park! But finding the entrance and NOT getting lost can be tricky. We’ve gotten lost before! It does have trails though so we love it for our dogs.

Good luck finding the entrance to this place! I drove past it three times before realizing the little green sign tacked to a tree was the entrance to the town’s forest... and that’s pretty representative of the maintenance of this place. The trails, while marked, don’t seem to correspond with the trail-map at all.. The map doesn’t show the Elfin Pond trails and Long trails intersecting, but, they do! And following the Elfin Pond trail, I just ended up at a massive fallen tree, there didn’t appear to be any semblance of a trail beyond it, so I just gave up. I understand that volunteers maintain these trails (?) so perhaps that is why they seem to be a bit wonky. It was just odd to arrive at a town forest and find a poorly-marked entrance (which later follows into a path between two private homes, so awkward) with no parking. The forest itself is really lovely though, with a great variety of trees, terrain, and plant-life. Tons of birds, beautiful vistas. I’d visit again, now I know what to expect!

Great place. My dog and I walked the yellow to orange trail about a hr in, lots of turns, it was alittle rocky. The trees are all marked, but might be harder to see in the summer so careful you could definitely get lost.nWith all the leaves down right now you can't see the trails much so you have to follow the marked trees.nThe yellow trail goes in a circle at the end and I think we went around the circle twice trying to leave. LolnNice and quiet walk and got some nice pictures, but my dog almost broke my leg ud83eudd23nWish there was better parking, idk if theres another entrance but the one I found is in front of peoples homes with spots for a car or 2.

A hidden gem 10 miles from downtown Boston. Well marked trails connect with adjacent conservation land in Braintree--you can do a short round trip, or walk for hours without crossing a road if you want to. 32 acres of this public resource are at risk of being auctioned off. Speak up if you want to keep it public!

Nice scenic color coded walking trails. There are maps at the entrance.
