Ragans Family Campground in Madison, Fl

We had heard nothing but rave reviews about this campground. Now that we are currently visiting, I'm utterly shocked at the high ratings of this place. We made reservations, asking multiple times for at least two queen beds and to be inside the park. When we arrived, we were taken to a “duplex,” which was right beside the check-in desk and nowhere “inside” the campground. I went back, and we were then moved to another cabin, which to our surprise, contained two full beds and connected to another place. (basically, it was one cabin that they made into two). I will also add that it had emerald green carpet, contained a funky smell, and was disgusting. Once again, we returned to their reservation desk. They assured us the next place slept eight and had two queen beds. Despite our frustration, we trusted that this was what we are paying for. Nope, it was a cabin that slept 20, and only contained full and twin beds and no full kitchen.nAfter a long drive, we were over it and decided to tough it out. The carpet is filthy, and the ceiling fans look as if they haven't been cleaned since the place opened. Then, as we are trying to push through - we tried to shower, and the hot and cold are mislabeled - so basically, it just decides what temperature it wants to be, and you have no control over it. My five-year-old could have been scolded! I called them to share the once again WRONG cabin and the concern of the shower. They didn't seem to care. They offered no resolution. I asked for a refund or partial refund, and I was told that a message would be given to management and they would call me. I haven't received a call yet and I doubt I will. It makes me sick to think of the money spent to stay at a place in the condition it is.nI am disappointed in the customer service and the overall condition of this facility. After all the rave reviews, we have heard, it's a shame that such a family-friendly place has turned into this.

The friendly staff makes this place feel like a summer camp and less like a commercial campground ud83dude42 They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. One lady bought ice cream for all the children on a hot afternoon. Someone playing putt putt golf said they had recently improved the course. Fun games were enjoyed by all and there's a feeling of community!

We stayed overnight in RV . Easy access from I10. Wish we could have stayed longer! Sites were large, friendly folks in office and fellow campers. Area was clean. Beautiful carvings on tree stumps throughout grounds. Just a great experience.

The Staff needs to work on their customer service. We stood in line at the store for 15 minutes wanting to order a pizza and we were not acknowledged one time so we left and spent our money somewhere else. The slide was down Easter because staff did not show up to run it. Their excuse was they were short of staff. People spend their hard earned money to be able to enjoy everything not just something’s the campground offers. They need to refund every camper that spent their money for Sunday. I would not recommend this place to anyone else since they have changed over from yogi bear to Reagan’s. When the Cathy and Tommy were over the campground there was always great customer service. We will not be back!!!!!
