Clean campsite. Bathrooms were clean. I would stay there again. If your going by this facility I recommend you stay there. Must leave Kayak on the beach and walk 150 feet to campsites.

I want to say thank you to the camp host for your kindness and help. Our stay was amazing and the facilities were very nice and well maintained.nI met the Ranger responsible for the River camps and I was impressed with her professionalism.nMy son and I have paddled the Suwannee several times and it seems to be improving every year.nThanks again,nBrad & Parker

I’ve been to hundreds of AT and backpacking shelters and these ones were amazingly maintained. Really well made and they have water, lights, fan, bug screens, etc. worth a zero if I were thru hiking the Florida trail

My lovely wife Gina and I and our two dogs Lucy and Barkley are the current volunteer hosts at Holton Creek River Camp. This is truly a beautiful and special place in the Florida State Park System. What makes it really special is the fact that it is only available to padlers and through hikers on the Florida Trail. I have created a detailed blog entry on my website slowpokesadventures.com about the camp. Please check it out for a lot of great pictures of the camp and a lot of other interesting nature related travel information. It has truly been a pleasure to be able to volunteer at such a wonderful camp.

The camp attendants are so friendly, and the campground is very clean and well maintained! The screened in platforms are comfortable and easy to stay in. This campground is designed to be hiked into or paddled into. You can only drive in and keep your car overnight if you have a handicapped parking tag. We did try to meet up with friends here, but they were followed by a local and intimidated, so they never made it to the campground, and on my way to drive to the campground, I was run off the road by a local. But the difference between the local area and the trail and waterway is night and day. I definitely recommend this campground, but I don't recommend the Jasper area as your starting point for the Florida Trail, because the area is not LGBTQ+ friendly or POC friendly.
