CFTC is more than just a gym. Being a new member, I was skeptical as to where I would fit in. From day one everyone here is welcoming, kind, encouraging and helpful. In the month-ish that I have been attending class, I have become more than addicted to the positivity of this community, the caring of the coaches to ensure that you are moving properly as to your abilities to ensure a positive experience and the results I am experiencing already. In a month I am already becoming stronger. Absolutely amazing! The time, energy, and care that Scott has put into building this gym, that is so much more than a gym, is truly uplifting. You leave feeling that you aren't just another person leaving a gym from a workout. But, someone that is a true part of this gym and feeling fortunate to have found a place that truly cares about pushing you to improve, past your comfort zone and whole-heartedly cares for your well-being

When I was forced to move to the greater Boston area and leave my old CrossFit home behind, it was devastating for me - I wasn’t sure that I would be able to replicate the same sense of community and coaching anywhere else. In fact, I had convinced myself that I wouldn’t. But luckily, I found CFTC which proved me terribly wrong. In this box, everyone (and I mean everyone) is invested in your personal growth. The coaches are experts at catering the workout to your fitness level, and the people never fail to put a smile on your face. The work is challenging, but not too challenging, and you’ll want to keep coming back for more once you see and feel the results. There’s nothing like it.nCFTC has taken COVID-19 incredibly seriously with CDC-driven guidelines and ensures that you’ll break a sweat without compromising your safety. Coming to this gym is easily the best part of my day. At CFTC, you come for the workouts, but stay for the people and community. Just walk through the door and try. You won’t regret it.

CFTC is not just a simple place where you put in work, clean your station, and move on. This is a community where everyone genuinely wants everyone else to succeed. Having started really slowly pre-COVID, I had doubts and some intimidation about being able to go through with this kind of a workout with people who are pushing good amount of weight. During the on ramp program, the focus was more on doing things the right way and making adjustments so that can become more natural as you add more complexity, like weight or distance on a run. I still felt intimidation and stepped away from Zoom to try and take the workouts solo.nnFast forward to August 2020. I made the decision that I needed to do more than just follow along from home. Having been with the community regularly has had a positive effect on my health and confidence. Coaches Scott and Corey actually want you to succeed and are willing to help where needed. The community genuinely wants to see you gain strength and get through a workout, even if it was scaled down. You feel like you conquered the world at the end!

I prided myself on staying healthy by exercising occasionally or getting a planet fitness membership or borrowing my friends. Then my father had a huge heart attack.nCrossfit in my mind was like jacked dudes and girls who lift super crazy weight. I wasn’t about that. So I had a lot of reservations about doing it but my husband had in the past.nSo I joined CrossFit at CFTC. While there are a lot of people who are in great shape and lift heavy weights, there are also a lot of people who scale everything. I am 28 and work out with women in their 40-60s who are keeping themselves healthy and in shape. And are doing a great job might I add. Scott and the other coaches help people like myself make the workouts doable while still moving and getting my heart rate up. My husband is in great shape so he’s in the group of people who are lifting heavier weight and moving well (They call them RX athletes).nAdditionally, the community that Scott has created is one of positivity. Everyone in the gym is encouraging, laughing, smiling. Negativity is shut down and other people in the gym encourage others and myself when we say “I can’t do it.” My husband and myself are so encouraged by what we have experienced here. Together, we would recommend this gym for newbies like myself and CrossFit regulars like my husband. We’re very grateful for the support we’ve gotten.

CFTC is more than just a crossfit gym. It’s a place where the coaches and members motivate and support each other.nnWhen I started at CFTC, I had a lot of extra baby weight still and I had been pretty sedentary for a few years.nI remember my first week, they heavily scaled my workouts, yet I was almost defeated by a handful of burpees. I’m not joking when I say that I started at almost zero, but everyone was so kind and supportive. There was no shame, no judgement... only kindness and support. The coaches take the time to make sure every member is comfortable. They want you to succeed. They want you to be healthy. They want to share their knowledge with you.nnOver time I was able to push harder and harder and see massive results in not just strength and performance but in how my body looks and feels.nnSince starting crossfit, I have lost 30lbs, but honestly weight is just a number. The important thing is what I have gained... I’ve gained health, confidence and friendships. Oh and remember those burpees that I said almost defeated me... now I do 100 with a smile on my face.nn10 out of 10 I recommend starting your fitness journey here! Try it! You will want to come back!
