Loved the park!!!nnBit of a drive to get to it off the main road, but it's well worth it. Very nice trails to hike. Easy access from primitive site to the river, and staff were friendly. There is a nice little museum of sorts at the main building.nnDuring our stay, we seen TONS of rabbits... mostly babies, along with several deer and a few spotted fawns along with a beaver. Tons of birds, and if you live in an area that is void of fire flies.... oh you'll be tickled pink at the thousands that light up the night sky.nnWith the sounds of owls in the distance, it was really a peaceful stay. I look forward to my next visit soon.nnOnly disappointing part... there was nobody available to rent us a boat... due to budget cuts, the boat rentals are only available a few days a week.
Wonderful experience kayaking the James today. Perfect weather. Check water levels before you leave. Park has beautiful cabins, built on a rise with great views. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful lake has a boat ramp. Camping. The day we went. The. Water. Was rough and choppy to rough. For floating or. Anything else
They weren't fans of fireworks but that's chill... Merica.
Will definetly go back. Horseback riding in the morning...tubing the river in the afternoon...Great people, and a very clean well maintained park.
