This is me and my girlfriend’s favorite winery in Virginia. The wine is excellent and the bread is delicious. What makes it my favorite, however, is the friendly staff and the resident dogs. A good dog friendly option and the spacing of the spots is great for a shy dog like ours. We’ve been here several times and each time is better than the next. I noticed they installed new fire pits which are great for socially distanced small groups. Looking forward to our next visit here already.

We visited during an unfortunate time right after an ice/snow storm back in Dec 16 (2020) which knocked down power lines in the area. Gabriele Rausse Winery had their power down, and we were the only customers, however the gentleman that was working at the time without hesitation made a fire outside to keep us warm, brought out some snacks and we got to sample some of their wine with some fascinating conversations. The hospitality reminds me of the European mentality of “we will make due with what we have”. Very pleasant experience. We dropped by another 5 wineries that day and they were all closed because of the power, just to contrast.

My absolute favorite place in all of Virginia. One of my favorite places in the world. You either get it or you don’t. The people the food the hospitality is unmatched. Tim is absolutely amazing. You must have their bread and families olive oil! Thank you for such an amazing experience EVERY time.
